Short Bio
Raul-Cristian Roman is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Automation and Computers, Politehnica University of Timisoara, the same faculty where he completed his entire academic training, from his Engineer's degree through his PhD. He began his career as a Software Engineer in industry before returning to academia during his doctoral studies, progressing through the ranks to his current position.
His research centers on data-driven and model-free control techniques, fuzzy control, and their application to systems such as two-rotor aerodynamical systems, tower crane systems, and shape memory alloy systems. He is a widely-cited author in his field and has been consistently included, since 2023, in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists list.
